It's Trick or Treat time in Azeroth as World of Warcraft celebrates Halloween with Hallow's End. It's not all fun and games, as the event brings the Headless Horseman to strike terror in both the hearts and minds of the citizens.

The event starts today, October 18 and ends November 1. Players can trick or treat through the different inns of Azeroth, Northrend, Pandaria, Outland, Draenor, and the Broken Isles. Players not only get tasty treats, there's a special currency that lets them buy Hallow's End delights.

Talking about the Headless Horseman, he is back and more than ready to set fire to Razor Hill and Goldshire once more. Before facing this infamous rider, you need to lend a hand to the bucket brigade and put out the fires. Be careful when taking a stroll through the Scarlet Monastery’s Graveyard since this is where the Headless Horseman has decided to make his new lair. If you do manage to beat this menace within his lair, you get to ride off with his majestic steed.

All through the Hallow's End event, characters level 20-120 can queue up for this encounter in the Dungeon Finder. In addition, once you get Tricky Treats, you can exchange them for the Headless Horseman’s Hearthstone. What this new toy does is it returns you to a location. If you want to change your home location you need to speak to an innkeeper in a different place. This item has a 30-minute cooldown.

You can also go to Val’sharah in order to undertake a quest that starts with the Hag of the Crooked Tree in Bradensbrook. Completing this quest not only lets you receive some Tricky Treats, but also a chance to get one of four bewitching hats:

  • Hat of the First Sister
  • Hat of the Second Sister
  • Hat of the Third Sister
  • Hat of the Youngest Sister

Overall there are a total of 21 achievements that can be earned during this event.

By the way, the Hallow's End event isn't limited to World of Warcraft. It's also available in World of Warcraft Classic. Activities include:

  • Pumpkin Bag
  • Trick or Treating
  • Apple Bobbing
  • Hallow's End Orphan Treats Questline
  • Candy Vendors
  • Wickerman Festival Quests
  • Invocation of the Wickerman Buff
