In celebration of Pac-Man's 43rd anniversary, the LEGO Group and Bandai Namco announced the release of a new vintage LEGO Icons Pac-Man Arcade set. This is considered as one of the most famous, as well as most nostalgic, arcade games of all time. It's going to be available starting June 4 but LEGO VIP members get early access on June 1.

This new LEGO set design shows an arcade version of Pac-Man and allows players to recreate some of the icon's legendary ghost munching moves. Builders can also create large colorful brick versions not only of Pac-Man but even Blinky and Clyde. This one rotates on a base and can be displayed on top of the cabinet or separately. Once complete, players can light up the coin-slot. By the way, there's also a small vignette of a female mini figure that's playing Pac-Man on an arcade and it's hidden inside the cabinet.

Talking about how the new set was designed, LEGO Designer Sven Franic shared that it was a delight to bring Pac-Man to brick life considering he's been an icon for more than four decades. He added that the team "worked tirelessly" to capture the very essence of the Pac-Man arcade but in brick form. He went on to say that each detail was carefully considered and crafted, resulting in a unique product having the magic of the original game yet with a new twist and Easter eggs. He concluded by saying that they're excited to share this with the world.

Discussing this partnership, Aadil Tayouga at Bandai Namco Europe shared that the two companies share a lot of the same values mainly aimed at offering fun for everyone through quality products. He said that this has indeed been a tremendous collaboration.
