E3 2021 may be over but the next big gaming event is just around the corner. It was announced yesterday that Gamescom 2021 will take place from August 25 to 27. And just like last year, this year will also be an online-only event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The list of companies that will be present at the event has been revealed as well. Most of the major companies which you expect to be here are attending. However, some important ones are missing. Bethesda Softworks will be present and will probably show off more of Deathloop and Fallout 76 upcoming content. I just wanna see Wolfenstein 3 though.

Activision and EA, both of which skipped E3 2021, will participate in the upcoming event. Activision will probably show 2021’s Call of Duty, while EA will show Battlefield 2042 and more. Don’t expect EA to show off any Star Wars -related content, however. EA will also hold its own EA Play Live on July 22. 505 Games, Ubisoft, Tencent, and more will also participate.

Besides those big names not attending the event, Nintendo, Sony, Square Enix, and Capcom will skip the event. According to recent rumors, Sony is supposed to host its own major event in August, so maybe that's the reason. We will love to see the gameplay of God of War: Ragnarok or more information about Horizon Forbidden West at that event. An announcement about one or two PC ports will also be welcomed. Let's hope it includes Bloodborne.

The list of companies participating in the event is mentioned below.

  • 505 Games
  • Activision
  • Aerosoft
  • Assemble Entertainment
  • Astragon Entertainment
  • Bandai Namco Entertainment
  • Bethesda Softworks
  • Electronic Arts
  • GAMEVIL COM2US Europe
  • Headup
  • Indie Arena Booth
  • Koch Media
  • NExT Studios (Tencent Games)
  • Sega Europe
