‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7: Jason Momoa Isn’t Coming Back As Khal Drogo, He Just Really Likes Guinness

Can we all agree that Jason Momoa coming back as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones isn’t happening? Seriously, the guy posts one photo for the Game of Thrones showrunners and the internet runs wild.

This is the photo Momoa recently shared of himself with showrunner David Benioff and Dan Weiss on Instagram. Just some guys sharing a few brews.

Didn’t take long for the “OMG he’s back on Game of Thrones ” comments to roll through. Next came the headlines speculating if Momoa will return as Khal Drogo because he happens to be in Ireland with his family.

Even if Momoa was reprising his role, how exactly will Drogo fit into the story now? What purpose would he serve? Drogo is DEAD. Like dead, dead. The kind of dead even Melisandre couldn’t revive. They did burned his body.

But what about a flashback or a vision? Considering the next season was cut down to seven episodes, why would they waste time on bringing Khal Drogo back. They have Mad Queen Cersei to deal with and she’s not going down without a fight. She’d let the White Walkers kill all of King’s Landing for all she cares. She looked at her own son’s dead body and felt nothing. Let’s get back to worrying about Cersei.

So no, Momoa probably isn’t coming back to Game of Thrones . He’s moved on to playing Aquaman. He’s fine, guys. Let him drink Guinness and enjoy his life.

Game of Thrones Season 7 will return to HBO some time in 2017.
