This update arrives amidst a rocky few weeks for the Fortnite community. After extended downtime following last week’s 2.3.0 update, this one was also plagued by similar issues and network frustrations. Performance has been so poor that Epic opted to give players some free currency as compensation.

As good as it is to see the Minigun finally coming to Fortnite, it arrives with a bittersweet reveal for fans. While deploying the patch, Epic also announced via a reddit post that the planned Save The World Valentine’s Day and Spring On events will be delayed by two weeks. The Valentine’s Day update, update 2.5.0, is now expected to release Feb. 14. While not specifically mentioned in the post, we imagine upcoming Battle Royale tweaks might be impacted by the delay as well.

Fortnite update 2.4.0 should be available now across PS4, Xbox One and PC.

What do you think of the Minigun now that you’ve had time to use it? Are you OK with the upcoming Fortnite patch delays? Tell us in the comments section!
