'Five Nights At Freddy's: Sister Location' Fee DLC To Add Custom Night Mode, Says New Teaser

Five Nights At Freddy’s: Sister Location released earlier this month, and DLC is already coming soon. A new teaser on the Scott Games website reveals future Custom Night content.

The teaser, shown below, doesn’t tell us much. It simply says “Custom Night coming soon” and that the mode will be released as a free update as opposed to paid DLC. Considering Bidybab and Funtime Freddy’s Bonnie puppet are shown in the image, we expect both characters to play a sizable role in the expansion.

'Five Nights At Freddy's: Sister Location' is getting free Custom Night DLC soon, and it may add to the game's story. It will be released as a Steam update. 'Five Nights At Freddy's: Sister Location' is available now on PC.

In previous Five Nights At Freddy’s games the Custom Night feature allowed players to set custom difficulty levels for each animatronic. Chiefly, its main purpose is to crank all difficulties up to their highest setting while trying to survive the night. Completing the challenge typically revealed a few more story details.

However, when it comes to Sister Location, the idea of a Custom Night is a little strange. In the latest entry, each night essentially features its own distinct mini-game. In other words, the implementation isn’t as clear cut as tweaking all antagonist difficulties for a single night. Will the Custom Night merely focus on the standard Five Nights At Freddy’s gameplay from the fake ending’s infamous Secret Room, or has it been reworked to suit the new mechanics? We won’t know for sure until the DLC arrives.

The second, and possibly most important, part of this free update is its potential to answer remaining lore questions not addressed in the stock game. Traditionally the Custom Night continues the plot after Night 5, so it will be interesting to see what that means for the narrative. Without getting too deep into spoilers, many of the animatronics won’t be present at the Sister Location after the events of the real or fake endings. Will players simply have to confront the Bidybabs, Bonnie puppet and other scraps that are left behind? The teaser certainly seems to suggest this.

While no release date is explicitly mentioned here, it’s worth noting that similarly free DLC was released for Five Nights At Freddy’s 4 on Halloween. The same trend seems likely to happen again.

Five Nights At Freddy’s: Sister Location is available now on PC. Mobile iterations are expected in the future.
