With less than a month before its official launch date, Square Enix has recently released updates and patch schedules for the Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers expansion.

Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers' producer and director Naoki Yoshida spearheaded a letter from the Producer livestream enumerating additional information regarding what will follow the July 2 release of the Shadowbringers expansion.

Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers will see two main patches drop during July. The first of these patches is slated for July 16, which is patch 5.01. 5.01 signals the launch of the normal difficulty high-level Eden raid. Patch 5.05 will release on July 30, and brings the savage difficulty to the Eden Raid. Along with the 5.05 patch comes the release of the Allagan tomestone of Phantasmagoria currency and the new Lyhe Ghiahl treasure hunt dungeon.

Yoshida also announced a couple of key characters for the ShadowBringers expansion, such as Thancred and Y’shtola. The two will be joining the Warrior of light. Encounters with new characters should be expected, such as with Ran’jit and Vauthry. A number of updates to Crafting classes, which include quality of life changes involving the crafting interface, have also been announced during the livestream. The Gathering classes will also receive a welcome change: ease of difficulty in obtaining Tomes of Regional Folklore and easier requirements to unlock gathering points are coming.

Spriggan World and Twintania World has been announced for the Chaos data center and the Light data center, respectively.

The patches are scattered in a way to provide players a chance to finish the ShadowBringers Expansion storyline before diving in again to raids and, of course, glamour. Increase in glamour dresser storage capacity has also been announced from 200 to 400 and glamour plates from 10 to 15.

A number of other updates has also been announced by Yoshida involving UI improvements and general quality of life of updates, which can be seen on the official Square Enix Twitch channel.

Final Fantasy XIV: ShadowBringers is still currently available for pre-order on PS4 and PC. Those who choose to pre-order will have access to the expansion by June 28. For everyone else, July 2 is the date to wait for.
