“It’s what’s in here that matters, and what’s in there is a gamer.”

An ad for Final Fantasy XIV’s upcoming Shadowbringers expansion has been released starring Spider-Man actor Tom Holland and funny man Hannibal Buress.

The video starts off with Holland doing push-ups, and Buress asking him whether they’re going to play Final Fantasy XIV. Holland says he’s not ready yet, and that he has to be “prepared.” Buress answers by saying “You don’t need to train, just play the game.”

A montage of Holland doing pull-ups, bench-pressing Buress on a couch and him sitting alone in their living room in the dark is shown, supposedly as training for Holland’s desire to be the Warrior of Darkness for Shadowbringers.

Next, a shot shows Holland wielding a giant Dark Knight sword, with Buress in the distance saying that he doesn’t need the sword because he’s not the Warrior of Darkness. Holland answers “Yes I am! Look at my sword!”. Buress retorts by saying, “You’re from West London, that’s the really nice part of London”. It’s true though, Holland isn’t cut out to be a badass Warrior of Darkness.

The ad reaches its climax with a somber Holland sitting on his bed and Buress asking him if he’s alright. Holland admits defeat and claims “I’m not going to be the Warrior of Darkness”. Buress answers with humorous and touching speech.

“It’s not about trying to be the ultimate Final Fantasy master. It’s what’s in here that matters, and what’s in there is a gamer.”

Buress repeatedly jabs Holland’s chest while saying words of encouragement such as “You got this!”, “You can do this”, “It’s video games” and the most important part of it all “It’s just buttons!”.

This rouses Holland up, and he exclaims that they should just play, but ultimately ends up dying 20 seconds into the game. It’s a very charming and humorous 90 second video which shows the pair’s chemistry.

The Shadowbringers expansion will be released by Square Enix on June 28 for those who pre-ordered the game. For everyone else, it’s going to be available on July 2.
