Epic Games Store this week’s free game is now available. You can claim Crying Suns today till January 14. It’s a tactical, rogue-like strategy game developed by Alt Shift and published by Humble Games. The game offers space exploration, a story-rich environment, and over 300 story events.

Main Features (as mentioned on Epic Games Store)

  • Space exploration in a procedurally-generated universe.
  • Tactical fights between battleships and their squadron fleets.
  • More than 300 possible story events.
  • A deep and dramatic storyline structured in 6 chapters.
  • A dark and disturbing atmosphere inspired by our favorite S-F universes (Foundation, Dune, Battlestar Galactica).

Once you claim the game, it’s yours forever. Crying Suns normally costs $24.99, and you are getting it for free, no strings attached. If you liked the game and still want to support the developers, you can purchase a Digital Artbook for only $4.99.

Next Week's Free Game

While Crying Suns is a great deal, the real big surprise is next week’s free game. Epic Games Store will give away Star Wars Battlefront 2: Celebration Edition from January 14 to 21. Not only will we get Battlefront 2 for free, but it’s also the Celebration Edition. This is the complete edition that gives you access to everything the game has to offer.

Battlefront 2 was panned by fans for less content, yet most criticisms were focused on the very aggressive monetization method. However, after constant updates and free post-launch support, the game has made a complete turnaround. Now the game offers quite a lot of content, and monetization isn’t linked with progress anymore.

If you haven’t played the game yet, then we highly recommend that you do. The multiplayer mode is also quite good when played with friends. It’s a shame that Battlefront 2 wasn’t like this at launch.
