Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has been confirmed for 2016 Bandai Namco

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 was at E3 2016 and Bandai Namco detailed some of the changes coming to the best-selling Dragon Ball game ever at its presentation.

The game, which is scheduled to release at the end of 2016, will go further with your avatar customization. We will have five races to choose from, again, but the story of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will let players go to different places in time within the Dragon Ball Universe.

Planet Namek and Frieza’s spaceship were examples given and shown, with your character’s avatar interacting with Guru shown in a screenshot.

On Frieza’s spaceship, your avatar will partake in undercover missions and new quests that will let you infiltrate Frieza’s army.

The main city in Xenoverse 2 is different from Toki Toki City in that it’s seven times larger and you can actually fly. Golden City allows players to fly around once they’ve learned and leveled up enough to gain the flight ability. Players can even use vehicles like a hoverboard to get around, and the presenter said players can even race using them.

We actually got to see some actual gameplay of a battle between Future Trunks and Turlis (new playable characters in Xenoverse 2) and it definitely looks crisper. Xenoverse 2 will have 60 fps, as opposed to 30 in the original game. With the better quality comes more detailed stages.

The devs on Xenoverse 2 took players' suggestions into account to improve battling. This includes better combo opportunities and a way to avoid attacks more easily.

From the gameplay shown, combos can be strung more easily than in the original game, especially if you want to finish off a combo with a blast.

As for avoiding attacks, hovering from above is easier, as is hovering to the left and right to avoid a Kamehameha, for example. You can also stop a teleport with a well-timed strike that will drain stamina. This can lead to even larger combos now that your opponent can’t teleport to get away from attacks.

Bandai also assured that they plan to support Xenoverse 2 with free updates and DLC for at least a year after launch.

So what do you think of these new Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 details? What do you hope to get with the avatar customization? Let us know in the comments section below.
