On the last day of EVO 2017, Bandai Namco released a new trailer for Dragon Ball Fighter, confirming a long-rumored character will come to the 2D fighting game, as well as a closed beta.

Trunks, the future son of Vegeta and Bulma, will be joining the fight. A kick-ass trailer shows off the swordsman’s special moves that have made him a fan-favorite for years.

Dragon Ball FighterZ Producer Tomoko Hiroki took the stage on the final day of EVO 2017 to show off the Trunks trailer and announce a closed beta for PS4 and Xbox One.

The Dragon Ball FighterZ closed beta will start on July 26, but there doesn’t seem to be one for the PC version. Hiroki confirmed the closed beta for Dragon Ball FighterZ will include nine characters and there are currently only seven confirmed fighters, so we should be receiving news on the other two characters very soon.

Our money is going to Bandai Namco announcing Androids 17 and 18 for the closed beta.

The current confirmed fighters in Dragon Ball FighterZ are:

Goku

Vegeta

Teen Gohan

Frieza

Majin Buu

Perfect Cell

Trunks

The 2D fighting game made a big splash when it was announced at E3 2017 being one of the most frequented game on the showfloor.

Bandai Namco has come out and said if fan demand is there, they would look into getting Dragon Ball FighterZ onto the Nintendo Switch. The company already has Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 coming to the Switch soon so it’s possible Switch owners will get this game on it as well.

Dragon Ball FighterZ will release for PS4, Xbox One and PC in early 2018.
