Doom Eternal released its second trailer which is sure to heighten the excitement for fans and players alike. The game is the fifth in the series and serves as a direct sequel to 2016's Doom. The game is set to be released on March 20.

You can view the new trailer below:

In the trailer, the year is 2151 and the armies of Hell have invaded Earth. Fortunately, there's one thing even the biggest of demons fear and that's you. Since Doom Eternal knows when to tell a story and when to step aside, the trailer highlights tons of the gameplay. The graphics look well done and the colors feel really alive.

This is not the first time we've been able to get a look at Doom Eternal, as its first trailer was released back in August. You can read more about that here.

The game has been highly anticipated and was initially slated for release in November. However, developer id Software revealed that they were going to delay the release to March, citing the need to exceed the expectations of the players, fans, and community. Not only that, the development team also wanted this upcoming game to offer the best experience for everyone.

In addition, this is the first game to make use of the id Tech 7 engine. According to the development team, their main goal with Doom Eternal was to come out with a universe that not only had larger locations, but more varied ones. One of these is the “Hell on Earth” location. Another change coming to Doom Eternal is that the multiplayer feature is being developed in-house rather than outsourced.

New as well is the number of demon types, which according to id Software is double compared to what is offered in Doom 2016. One feature that has many in the community excited is the Invasion mode. This asymmetric multiplayer mode offers a unique experience for players. Here, players can join in someone else's single player campaign, but instead of fighting alongside them, they get to fight as demons.

While there are new gameplay additions, the push-forward combat mechanic remains in place. This system rewards players for playing more aggressively when it comes to taking down enemies.

What about you? What are you most excited about this game?
