The studio behind the Dishonored series and Prey (2017), Arkane Studios, has one more game in the works, and no, I am not talking about the upcoming game, Deathloop. Dishonored co-creator Harvey Smith recently claimed that he is working on an unannounced title with Arkane Studios.
New Game in Development
Smith previously worked on the Dishonored franchise with Arkane Studios’ Lyon Division. After finishing the games, he has since moved to Texas where he is working with Arkane Studios’ Austin Division. Because Deathloop is handled by Lyon Studios, it makes sense that the Austin Division got something else.
Smith didn’t reveal how long the unannounced game is in development or the release date. We also don’t know whether the title is a new IP or a sequel to an existing franchise. As much as I like Dishonored games, I personally want a new Prey game. Prey (2017) was an underrated gem.
"I'm not on Deathloop, I'm on something else, working with the guys who made Dishonored and Prey," said Smith to Vandal, translated IGN.
Given that Arkane Studios' parent company would be acquired this year, there is a very good chance that the new title will be an Xbox Series X|S exclusive. If Microsoft abides by their previous promises, then it’s safe to assume that the game will get a PC release as well. Based on that, the unannounced title should take part in Xbox Game Pass from Day One.
The news shouldn’t come as a surprise. Microsoft has previously claimed that Bethesda Softworks have several unannounced games in development. This mysterious new Arkane Studios title must be one of them. So, it seems we will have to wait until the game is officially announced.
