Diablo Immortal: Latest Update Redesigns Rune System

February 21 Update Blizzard

Do you have a lot of spare runes lying around in Diablo Immortal? Well, it’s now time to dust them up because the game’s most recent update now allows you to convert them into more useful Ast Runes.

Blizzard has redesigned the Rune System in Diablo Immortal in the latest patch . So, what are the main changes? First, Rare and Legendary Crests will no longer drop a variety of Common and Magic Runes. Ati Runes, which are runes used for making Legendary Gems, will also not drop from Crests as part of the redesign.

Instead of getting lowly Runes, Rare Crests now drop four Ast Runes and Legendary Crests will drop one Ast Rune. Ast Runes are more valuable as they are used to craft Bound Legendary Gems at Seril the Apprentice Jeweler in Westmarch.

Speaking of Bound Legendary Gems, the Fading Ember cost associated with crafting these gems has been removed. Don’t worry, you can still use them directly at Seril to make random Unbound Legendary Gems.

Take note that all Unbound Legendary Gems you’ve made can be sold in Wynton’s Grand Market for profit. Alternatively, you can use them as currency to purchase more Ast Runes when needed.

In addition, Apprentice Jewelers in Diablo Immortal have now become the go-to option for your Legendary Gem crafting needs. Furthermore, you don’t have to convert Runes to create Legendary Gems anymore. The costs for crafting both Bound and Unbound Legendary Gems have changed to the following:

  • 20 Ast Runes for a Bound 1-Star Legendary Gem of your choice
  • 80 Ast Runes for a Bound 2-Star Legendary Gem of your choice
  • 5 Fading Embers for 1 Ast Rune
  • 100 Fading Embers for a random Unbound 1-Star Legendary Gem
  • 320 Fading Embers for an Eternal Legendary Crest
  • 320 Fading Embers for a random Unbound 1 to 5-Star Legendary Gem
  • 400 Fading Embers for a random Unbound 2-Star Legendary Gem

As mentioned earlier, all other runes that you have in your inventory can now be converted to usable Ast Runes and Fading Embers by talking to Seril. The conversion rates are as follows:

  • 8 Common Runes for 1 Ast Rune
  • 2 Magic Runes for 1 Ast Rune
  • 1 Ati Rune for 3 Ast Runes
  • 1 Fa Rune for 18 Fading Embers

Normal Gem Update

You might want to actively look for Hidden Lairs on maps now since Blizzard has made them more appealing in the latest update.

You can now collect up to nine Bound Normal Gems just by completing the bonus objectives. Besides that, you can acquire nine Unbound Normal Gems by defeating Hidden Lair Guardians.

Take note that the chance of finding normal gems decreases with each subsequent run. This is actually a good thing, especially if you only have a limited amount of time playing Diablo Immortal every day. You can just complete a couple of runs and then do other things like catching fish.

Diablo Immortal February 21 Update is available on Android, iOS, and PC.
