Diablo Immortal Moving to Closed Alpha Testing

Ready for the Crusader? Blizzard

Blizzard announced the start of the closed alpha testing for Diablo Immortal. Don’t get all too happy though since the test is limited, for now, to a certain number of players in Australia. Plus, only Android device owners can join. However, Blizzard did say that they’ll be inviting some members from the Diablo community to be part of the test at a later date.

It was back in December when Blizzard started the Technical Alpha testing of the game. Later, it was made available for both Android and iOS. After that, Blizzard learned a lot from testing and in fact, it even went beyond the main targets, which were server stability and client performance.

For the closed alpha, testers can expect some end-game content and a level cap increase to 55 from 45.

New Class

During the Technical Alpha, testers were treated to four classes: Barbarian, Demon Hunter, Monk, and Wizards. For this upcoming test, a new playable class, the Crusader, will be introduced. This hero uses a shield and is paired with Holy magic, a combination that should be deadly against heretics and abominations in the Sanctuary of Hell.

In future tests, Blizzard said they’ll be adding the Necromancer.

New Zones

There are also new zones for testers to explore. The first is Mount Zavain located deep in the Tamoe mountains. This is the home of the Monks who are considered by many as the deadliest warriors in Sanctuary.

To the north is where the Frozen Tundra lies. War continues in this region and making things difficult is the presence of the Lord of Destruction.

New Dungeon

The Diablo series isn’t just about exploring large areas but also going deep into dungeons. It turns out a new one has been found in the Frozen Tundra. Known as the Cavern of Echoes, testers must survive the cold as they look for the Iceburn Tear.

Battleground

Diablo Immortal is offering testers as well the chance for some PvP action with Battlegrounds. Here, they get to test their skills through the 8v8 battles. Testers can choose to attack or defend or maybe better, let the game decide it for them.

The rules are straightforward, teams on the attack need to defeat Guardians and then escort Zealous Idols to destroy the Ancient Heart. Defending teams, meanwhile, have to prevent the attacking team from clearing their objective.
