Dead by Daylight Patch 5.5.0 PTB: New Features and Add-on Improvements

Dead by Daylight
Dead by Daylight Steam

A lot of huge changes can be expected in Dead by Daylight’s latest public test build (PTB). The developers at Behaviour Interactive have said before that they will optimize game updates moving forward. Well, that has come to fruition as this PTB build is roughly 20 GB smaller than previous ones.

The developers are hoping that this change is the first step in helping reduce patch times in the future. Do keep in mind that because this is a massive change, you may have to redownload the entire game.

New Features

Patch 5.5.0 has implemented some quality of life features. One of the most useful additions is the feature that allows you to change the interaction behavior. Setting this to “Toggle” means that you no longer have to hold the interaction button when you’re fixing generators or healing your allies, for example.

Ending the interaction can be done by pressing the interaction button again or by using the “Run to Cancel” option, which is another feature introduced in this update. Speaking of which, when it is enabled, Survivors can cancel an interaction by initiating a run. This setting is found under “Controls” in the options menu. This is only available for Survivors, however.

Although the developers did not give anything specific, it is outlined in the patch notes that certain vulnerabilities have been fixed, preventing cheaters from abusing them.
