Since Nov. 4, 2016, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered has only been available in the Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition. Fans were not happy since the very beginning when Activision did not offer the remaster as a standalone game. But as the saying goes, it's better late than never – Modern Warfare Remastered is now available for PS4 for $39.99.

For those of you that haven't picked up a copy of CoD4:MW since 2007, the latest remaster features the same campaign as well as an expanded multiplayer that features the new Depot map and new game modes. For an extra $14.99, the Variety Map Pack adds maps Broadcast, Chinatown, Creek and Killhouse. What's more, the Pack also offers 10 additional Rare Supply Drops.

As much as I appreciate a remaster of one of my favorite shooters of all time, and as exciting it is to learn we no longer have to pick up Infinite Warfare as well, this standalone announcement comes a little too late. With a brand-new Call of Duty: WWII coming in November, I'm personally more tempted to wait for the fresh title instead. What's more, with the Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition going for $51.99, or just $12 more, Activision is either charging way too much on Modern Warfared Remastered or way too little for Infinite Warfare (it's obviously the former).
