Activision finally released an action-packed trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The trailer includes gameplay footage that gives a clear idea of what to expect from the mode. This time around, the scope of the Zombies mode is quite big, and fans are certainly in for a thrilling experience. The trailer clears up most of the confusion that fans may have had, including the inclusion of perk machines and zombie mode-specific weapons.

The trailer shows off a variety of perks including Juggernog, Pack-A-Punch, Quick Revive, and the Mystery Box. Classic zombies-mode weapons like the Ray-Gun were also seen. According to Craig Houston, the lead writer for Call of Duty Zombies, the Zombies mode in Black Ops Cold War is set in the same Aether Universe, which means fans will be able to play on classic Zombies maps like the Die Maschine. This time the Zombies mode features a new cast of characters, but the core story will remain unaffected.

Fans will also see new changes this time around, including:

  • Early exfiltration in case they get overwhelmed at higher levels
  • Weapon progression will be shared between Cold War multiplayer and Zombies mode
  • All Zombies post-launch content will be free.

Another new addition to the Zombies mode is new killstreaks. The trailer showed off a soldier operating a chopper gunner to clear off hordes of zombies. As the trailer concluded, it gave us a brief glimpse at Woods battling through a pack zombies charging at him during night time. The setting seemed to be different from Die Maschine, indicating that the game may launch with at least two Zombie maps.

Finally, cross-progression and cross-gen have been confirmed, meaning fans can carry over their progress from current consoles to next-gen consoles, and matchmake across both generation of consoles.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is releasing on November 13 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X.
