Boobs & Dragons: Vegas' Weirdest, Most Unecessary Slot Machines

Slot machines have changed a lot over the years, though the basics are still the same. You put in your money and hope the luck gods are on your side. Back in your parents’ days, all you could do was push that lever down over and over and hope for the best. Nowadays, technology has caught up to the slot machine, creating a complex yet addictive system to try and squeeze as much cash out of you as possible.

I am visiting Vegas for the first time and have become well acquainted with the slot machines. In the middle of the hundreds of men with cowboy hats and heavy cigars, I sat with cash in hand, ready to give my hard-earned dollars to the RNG gods. There are hundreds of different slot machines to choose from, some being generic tropes like unicorn fantasy or Grecian gods, while others are a bit more…. unique.

Here are just a few of my favorite licensed slot machines from around the casinos.

Big Bang Theory

You ever wanted to give Sheldon all your lunch money? He makes over a million bucks per episode, so he doesn’t really need it, but here’s your chance. Try to score three Bazingas! in a row while you gamble away your kid’s college tuition. There’s also a Batman 66 and Ted machine alongside it, because all of those seem to go together.

Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5

I know if you are reading this you probably aren’t the biggest fan of Dolly Parton. Most people under the age of 40 associate her with bad plastic surgery and breasts that have stayed perkier a lot longer than most government democracies. This machine has a “rockin reels respin,” which I’m still not entirely sure has to do with anything.

Game Of Thrones

The crowning jewel of franchised slot machines, this Game Of Thrones -inspired beast will keep you distracted for hours. The giant board features a Targaryen, Stark and Lannister board that screams to life every time you spend the money. Your chair even vibrates, so you know it means business. Every few spins, Tyrion Lannister spouts some insane line from the show while a clip plays on screen. See wolves grin and horses run while Tyrion talks about the fouls of made, seems a bit much for a slot machine just trying to steal your money.

What’s the weirdest slot machine you’ve ever seen? Tell us in the comments.
