The BLAST Premier matches between Ninjas In Pyjamas and Berlin International Gaming have concluded. The matchup between the two teams was played in a best of three series.

Vertigo was the first map of the series. BIG started really strong as they took an 8-0 lead and destroyed NIP in the first half. Round 14 was amazing to watch when BIG somehow managed to win a 2v4 situation. NIP smoked the site and started defusing the plant, which gave the audio cue to BIG. Because of that sound, BIG got kills, stopped NIP, and won the round. BIG took the first map at 16-2 with Florian “syrsoN” Rische being the carry with 21 kills and exceeding the rare 2.0 Rating.

The second and final map they played on was Inferno. This time, however, NIP started with a 6-0 lead. BIG slowly started to gain momentum and managed to get the first half to a 6-8 scoreline. SyrsoN pulled a beautiful 1v2 clutch on round 16, where he hid behind a sandbag after planting and then prevented NIP from defusing the bomb by killing them.

The final round of the series was rather depressing for NIP fans, as BIG won every gunfight and took the round before NIP could push for overtime. It would have been more exciting to see the third map but BIG didn’t throw any rounds and played consistently throughout all games. SyrsoN once again topped the scoreboard with a total of 49 kills in both games.

BIG won their groups and have secured a spot for the next event.
