'Beasts of Reincarnation' Is the New RPG from 'Pokemon's' Game Freak But Not Your Typical Friendly Adventure

A new RPG from Pokemon's developer is gearing up for a new adventure.
Game Freak/Xbox

The renowned studio behind the iconic "Pokemon" games is exploring a new kind of role-playing game (RPG) adventure with their latest reveal during the Xbox Games Showcase, "Beasts of Reincarnation." This new action RPG title is a breath of fresh air to the world that has known Game Freak over the years because of its work on Nintendo's "Pokemon," offering a new experience for all.

Instead of having to "catch 'em all" and bring multiple pocket monsters along the way, players would only have one canine companion to accompany them on their journey across the land.

'Beasts of Reincarnation' Brings New RPG Action

The Xbox Games Showcase gave the world a Summer to remember with the many games revealed during the event, and while there are many iconic titles revealed here, there is one stand out that came from "Pokemon's" developing studio, Game Freak. "Beasts of Reincarnation" is the latest action adventure from the iconic studio, but this time, it is exploring a new kind of experience to undertake.

Instead of the usual experiences that gamers saw in the "Pokemon" franchise, Game Freak is taking players on a different adventure that focuses on a single protagonist, Emma, accompanied by her trusty canine partner, Koo. This new game is far from being reminiscent of a "Pokemon" title from Game Freak as it sets its unique tone, particularly with the new world it is building.

Players are thrust into a world full of dangers and fantasy creatures that users may come across in their journey, with the main goal being to travel to different forests that bring different challenges and tests. This game was originallyknown as "Project Bloom" according to The Verge, with Take-Two Interactive's Private Division label set to publish the games but has since sold the label last year.

Now, the game will be published by Fictions, with Game Freak still donning the development of the title, to deliver a new experience in the world of action RPGs.

Not 'Pokemon': Game Freak's New Action Adventure

As previously said, this game is far from Game Freak's renowned development of "Pokemon" games, but the closest game it can be linked to is Capcom's "Monster Hunter" franchise. While this specific game centers on a player and their pet's adventures across the wasteland, significant challenges and threats may spawn from the map and bring monstrous entities.

In the game's description, Game Freak will deliver a "demanding technical combat" to this RPG, with players getting different kinds of challenges and tests along the way with the ever-changing environment around them. There are still no specifics to the game's story and what players need to achieve, but it focuses on traveling across the wasteland and using resources found on the way.

Based on the latest trailer, the game would take users on a new thrilling adventure across a new place that is yet unknown, with Koo, the werewolf-looking canine, helping Emma in her journey. The game is set to launch by next year, 2026, coming to the Xbox Series S and X, PC, and PlayStation 5.
