Intel announced its range of NUC 9 tiny PCs, also known as Ghost Canyon, at CES 2020. Now, Asus has revealed that it has designed the Dual GeForce RTX 2070 Mini for the NUC 9 range. The graphics card packs some serious gaming power for the small NUC 9 Extreme Kit and NUC 9 Pro Kit that are releasing soon.

Given that the PC is smaller than even a PS4 Pro, one would expect the temperatures to be higher than normal. However, Asus has stated that the Dual GeForce RTX 2070 Mini will run around 10 degrees cooler than the regular GeForce RTX 2070. A dual fan setup keeps the graphics card running cool at around 74C while remaining quiet.

Asus worked closely with Intel to create the Dual GeForce RTX 2070 Mini so that it precisely fits into Intel's NUC 9 tiny PCs. To keep temperatures cooler, Asus has custom-designed the shroud, heatsink, and heat pipe layouts for maximum efficiency. The dual Axial-tech fans offer high static pressure for cooler performance and were originally designed for high-end ROG graphics cards. These fans feature smaller hubs, facilitating for longer blades to efficiently blow air out through the entire heatsink.

Auto-Extreme Technology

Auto-Extreme is Asus' automated manufacturing process that is a relatively new industry standard in which all soldering is done in a single pass. This technology reduces thermal strain on the tiny GPU components, therefore creating less environmental impact, lower power consumption, and increased reliability of the product.

The Dual GeForce RTX 2070 Mini will be available worldwide, starting today. The Dual GeForce RTX 2060 Mini and GTX 1660 Super are expected to launch in Q1 2020.
