Valve refuses to let go of Artifact. The failed card game has been revived in the form of Artifact Beta 2.0. The game has received a plethora of updates and patches in the hopes that it can attract a massive player base. Developer Valve also released another update for the game that is mostly focused on gameplay changes, however, some UI tweaks and bug fixes were also made.

Players can now be a part of the new abusive text chat filtering system. This will apply to both in-game chat and global chat. The mana cost of Winter Wyvern’s Winter's Curse and Mirana’s Sacred Arrow have been reduced by one point. Pugna’s Nether Ward doesn’t require a cooldown anymore. Damage of Sand King’s Sandstorm Decay and Prellex’s Mega Creep attack is upped by one point. Tons of other tweaks have also been made. Feel free to check them out below or on the official site.

Artifact Beta 2.0 Patch Notes - 9/25/2020

UI

  • Implemented support for Steam’s new abusive text chat filtering for in-game chat and global chat. See the Steam Labs blog post to opt-in.
  • Fixed a bug where players were listed as "Leaderboard 1" on their profile if they were unranked (hadn't played 5 ranked games in the previous 5 days).

Gameplay

  • Reduced Winter Wyvern’s Winter's Curse cost 5 -> 4.
  • Reduced Mirana’s Sacred Arrow mana cost 4 -> 3.
  • Tinker’s Laser changed to "Deal 1 piercing damage to a unit and disarm it. Give it -2 Armor for two rounds."
  • Pugna’s Nether Ward no longer has a cooldown.
  • Sniper’s Assassinate cost now reduced by 2 when you pass rather than by 1.
  • Debbi the Cunning’s No Accident now gives Feeble permanently.
  • Storm Spirit’s Overload requires the spell be cast in lane.
  • Reduced Sand King’s Burrowstrike cooldown 4 -> 3.
  • Increased Sand King’s Sandstorm Decay damage 2 -> 3.
  • Increased Prellex’s Mega Creep attack 2 -> 3.
  • Crystal Maiden’s Frostbite now roots the targeted unit.
  • Vanessa’s Void Theft now reduces mana costs using the card’s current Mana cost instead of the base Mana cost of the card.
  • Sister of the Void cost reduced 4 -> 3.
  • Reduced Ogre Corpse Tosser mana cost 4 -> 3, reduced health 7 -> 4.
  • Reduced Iron Fog Goldmine mana cost 4 -> 3.
  • Infernal Ally now triggers neighbor death effects twice, rather than once.
  • Shadow Walk now has Quickcast.
  • Plague Hex now gives decay until death rather than until next combat.
  • Rumusque Choir gains +1/+1 the first time each other ally heals or gains health, including other Rumusuque Choirs, instead of every time.
  • Rumusque Choir cost 2 -> 3.
  • Fell Spirit now gets +2 Attack when activated.
  • Ramp Bolt can now target any unit, not just the lowest health units.
  • Team Fight now moves the caster up to range 5 before deploying heroes from the fountain.
  • Spring the Trap now requires a caster.
  • Path of the Bold now affects all your blocked units, not just heroes.
  • Colorless cards require a caster in lane.
  • Ephemeral cards in Overdraw get tossed out when the round ends.
  • Cross-lane movement now activates the caster’s lane-dependent triggers (in addition to lane-dependent triggers of allies in the old lane). For example, if Lina casts Call the Reserves, Fiery Soul will trigger in the new lane even though the spell was cast in the old lane.
  • Ogre Magi's Ignite now gives +1 Decay to units it deals damage to.

Bugs

  • Fixed a bug where towers wouldn't take decay damage in a lane without any units.
  • Fixed a bug where effects that require a unit to survive (Veteran's Insight, Moment of Courage, Mjollnir) wouldn't trigger if it was saved by a Death Shield.
