The second season of Overwatch 2 comes with tons of exciting new events for fans and players alike. With Christmas just a couple of days away, Blizzard wants the first-person shooter game to be wrapped in a Yuletide theme. The annual event brings the holiday vibe and cheers, with new skins and unique game modes to enjoy!

Just like the recent Halloween event, the Overwatch 2 Winter Wonderland update will give players access to additional loot and a brand-new battle pass. It is worth noting that the studio’s decision to make the second iteration free-to-play (the first game was paid) has certainly boosted its popularity. This has not only allowed older Overwatch 1 players to return and play but has also opened the door to new fans.

True enough, the second season exploded the popularity of Overwatch 2 even more, with the game’s player count has increased tremendously ever since. This is definitely a testament to Blizzard’s approach to focus more on introducing the franchise to both old and new players.

There is no doubt that players across the world are excited about what the Winter Wonderland Christmas event has to offer; it will reportedly introduce a slew of new features. Every year, Blizzard packs the limited-time event with new game modes, skins, and features, among others.

All maps are expected to be revamped to match the vibe surrounding the event. This alone provides players with a new incentive to play Overwatch 2. The Winter Wonderland event is slated to start on December 13, 2022 until January 4, 2023.

How to Grab Rewards in the Winter Wonderland Event

The update will introduce four exclusive Brawls, accessible any time during the event. Players can choose between Competitive Play, Quick Player, and Arcade matches and, in doing so, will give them the chance to unlock event-exclusive cosmetics each week. Also, winning a match will count as two games toward the next round.

Furthermore, the Overwatch 2 Winter Wonderland Christmas event will have Loot Boxes exclusive to the event only. These gift-shaped boxes will contain unique cosmetics and skins from both previous and current Winter Wonderland events.
