2V2 Battles Coming to Rocket League in Season 4

A new tournament!
A new tournament! Psyonix

Season 3 of Rocket League is ending this Wednesday. That means, the start of a new season of competition, which brings new rewards. Speaking of competition, there’s something new arriving in Season 4. There’s going to be 2v2 Tournaments along with Extra Modes.

The new 2v2 Tournaments won’t be difficult to join since they will be like 3v3 Tournaments. Players can simply join a Competitive Tournament solo or with a teammate and then work their way to the top from a 32-team bracket. In addition, new Tournaments are added to the daily schedule so any existing 3v3 Tournaments aren’t replaced.

The daily schedule of the Competitive Tournaments is also going to be expanded so that there’s more available for each region. Each region can expect to have about 8 to 13 additional tournaments a week added.

Extra Mode

With the number of tournaments each day being expanded, that also means different kinds of Tournaments are introduced. One of these is Extra Mode Tournaments. Here, the featured Extra Mode changes each day in Rumble, Hoops, Snow Day, and Dropshot.

While teams join Extra Mode Tournaments at their Tournament Rank, their Tournament Ranks won’t be affected by performance in Extra Mode Tournaments. Players still get Tournament Credits and Tournament Winner Titles from these Tournaments.

New UI

For Season 4, players can also look forward to an updated look for the Tournaments History tab. The new UI displays a log of the player’s Competitive Tournaments history, including when it was entered, how the player placed, and the Rank of the Tournament. Plus, the Tournament Rank is now displayed on the Tournament home screen.

Season 3 Almost Over

Season 3 ends in a few days. That means it is time to go through those tiers fast. For rewards, Season 3 is handing out titles, particularly for those who finished at Grand Champion and Supersonic Legend Rank. Grand Champion Title Rewards include:

  • Competitive Grand Champion: "S3 GRAND CHAMPION" in Crimson text
  • Rumble Grand Champion: "S3 RNG CHAMP" in Crimson text
  • Hoops Grand Champion: "S3 DUNK MASTER" in Crimson text
  • Snow Day Grand Champion: "S3 BLIZZARD WIZARD" in Crimson text
  • Dropshot Grand Champion: "S3 FLOOR DESTROYER" in Crimson text
