Xbox PC App Tests Integrating Game Libraries Into Just One Platform

Soon, all your games on PC would be available on the Xbox PC app.

The Xbox PC app may soon get an upgrade as Xbox is currently testing the integration of a user's game libraries into one platform to access all the titles on different devices. Users who have joined the testing program are now getting the chance to access their games, regardless of where they purchased them from, under one library.

This latest test is part of the company's wider preparation for the arrival of the ROG Xbox Ally handhelds, which would get unified access to games offered on both Windows PCs and portable consoles.

Xbox PC App Tests Game Libraries Integration

Microsoft is gearing up for a massive change to the Xbox PC app in the coming months, with the company already launching its test for the "aggregated gaming library" that brings all of a user's purchased games under one platform.

The company is now letting a handful of selected Xbox Insiders have a sneak peek at the upcoming experience that will unify all gaming needs on the PC.

According to Microsoft, this is the latest PC Gaming Preview platform, which is the official test by the company to bring the aggregated game library to users, available right in the Xbox PC app. Through this, Microsoft is essentially transforming the Xbox PC app into a gaming hub where all of a user's purchased games, DLCs, and more are available to access with only a click.

"With the aggregated gaming library, players can conveniently launch games from Xbox, Game Pass, Battle.net, and other leading PC storefronts from a single library within the Xbox PC app," said Microsoft.

Microsoft added, "Whether you're on a Windows PC or a handheld device, your Xbox library, hundreds of Game Pass titles, and all your installed games from leading PC storefronts will now be at your fingertips."

The company has yet to list all of the supported PC storefronts that are part of this experience as of press time.

Windows PC, Handheld Games In One App

According to Microsoft, this test is now taking place in preparation for the arrival of the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X that are slated for release this holiday season. The portable gaming console is known for being powered by Windows 11 Home, with it getting access to the Xbox PC app as well as the Game Pass and other services.

Through this aggregated game library, Microsoft is ensuring that the Xbox PC app is the only platform that users would need for all things gaming in the future handhelds, as well as on Windows PCs.

This unified experience brings together the many games on one's Xbox library, all of the Game Pass titles (for eligible subscribers only), as well as all the other games installed on their PCs under "My library."

Users may also enjoy new features like a "Most Recent" tab to allow gamers to quickly find and access their last played game.
