WWE Superstar Austin Aries has announced he will take time away from WWE, but don’t worry yet. It seems the wrestler just wants a short break before coming back to the Cruiserweight division to claim the Cruiserweight Title.

This news comes from an interview Aries gave on Busted Open Radio, courtesy of Wrestle Zone. “I’ve got some stuff going on, but just to be fair you could probably say that for a lot of the locker room,” Aries said. “It’s kind of part of what we do, I don’t think anyone is ever 100%. So I got a couple things going on and obviously at this point it might be a good time to take a little break which really could consist of two days to just adjust some of those things, try and get my mind and my body right and then come back and figure out what’s gonna be next and what the direction’s gonna be.”

From the sound of it, Aries just wants some time away from travelling and performing to take a deep breath and figure out what he wants to do next. He also sounds excited to return after his time away, so don’t think this will be the last we see of that banana-eating son-of-a-gun.

Also in the interview, Aries talked about how he feels 205 Live has been presented and what he thinks of the promotion. “There are things that I think are great, there are things that I think need to be changed or made improvements on,” he said. “But at the end of the day, I don’t get paid to make those decisions. I just get paid to go out there and do what I do and perform.”

Aries did end on a positive note, saying the show is still growing and there’s something larger planned for everything. “The main thing you need to keep in mind and understand is that there’s a big vision for this. It doesn’t happen overnight, and it’s still in its infancy stages. There’s going to be growing pains and there’s going to be figuring out the right formula.”

With Aries out of the picture for now, Neville is pretty much running unchecked across the Cruiserweight division. Now might be a good time for a returning Cedric Alexander to once again challenge for the top prize. If not Alexander, a Mustafa Ali push could work nicely. The thoughts of a Red Arrow vs Inverted 450 match already have me excited.

Neville doesn’t have a planned match for the next PPV, Great Balls Of Fire. The only match that has been confirmed is Universal Champion Brock Lesnar defending the belt for the first time against Samoa Joe.

So what do you think? Are you sad to see Aries out of competition for a while? Who do you think will be the next Cruiserweight champion in WWE? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
