World of Warships: Convoy Has Returned for a Limited Time in New Update

Update 12.4 Wargaming Studios

Wargaming Studios unleashed another major patch for World of Warships recently. Update 12.4 sees the return of a popular game mode, Convoy.

Returning Game Mode

Convoy has returned to World of Warships with new improvements to make it better and more enjoyable. This time, the game mode uses a 12v12 format where players use Tier VIII to Tier X ships only.

Aside from that, convoy battles will take place on the Haven map. Players will also notice that bot behavior has been improved. Now, AI transport ships will do their best to evade torpedoes by changing their speed instead of changing course entirely.

It is worth noting that players will be placed in groups randomly, some on the attacking team tasked with sinking all transport ships or their guards. The others are assigned to defend ships from enemy vessels.

Pan-American Cruisers Have Arrived

Those who want to get their hands on the new Pan-American Cruisers in World of Warships can now rejoice because these vessels are now available for all players to research. Some of the noteworthy ships include the Tier VI Almirante Cochrane, Tier VIII Ignacio Allende, and Tier X San Martin.

What the Pan-American Cruisers have in common is that they have weak armor, but they make up for it with their good concealment. They come with some very useful consumables as well, such as:

  • The Repair Party consumable becomes available from Tier II. From Tier VI it's substituted with Specialized Repair Teams, which restores a significant amount of hit points, including citadel hit points.
  • Tier IV unlocks the Short-Range Hydroacoustic Search consumable, while Tier VII brings Defensive AA Fire in the same slot.
  • Tier V and VI ships have access to the Fighter consumable.
  • Starting from Tier VIII the Surveillance Radar and Spotting Aircraft consumables become available in the same slot.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that caused the sight to shift when the submarine surfaced.
  • Fixed an issue that caused VIII Alliance to receive increased damage from high-caliber AP shells.
  • Fixed an issue where torpedoes would sometimes deal damage without hitting a ship.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the game client to crash when the Dockyard was opened.
  • Fixed an issue where allied bots would push Ruan into an island in Operation Hermes, preventing players from completing the operation.
  • Fixed an issue that caused visual errors when switching between sonar and torpedoes.
  • Fixed an issue with the sound of attack aircraft launching missiles and a machine gun burst before an attack played with no aircraft nearby.
  • Fixed a rare issue that caused the client to crash when a ship was sunk in battle/on a replay.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the game client to crash at the end of a battle if the launched torpedoes disappeared after reaching the maximum range.

World of Warships Update 12.4 is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
