The Nintendo Switch 2 remains unavailable on Amazon as of writing, with the Japanese company opting not to sell the console directly on the e-commerce platform. Fans and potential customers who rely heavily on Amazon have started to question this notable absence, with a new report speculating on the real reason behind it.

For now, gamers may turn their attention to other e-commerce platforms like Best Buy, GameStop, Target, Walmart, and other retailers for a guaranteed fair price of the console and stock information.

Nintendo Switch 2 Still Unavailable on Amazon

Amazon has been widely criticized for not selling the next-generation Switch handheld console at present. Searching for Switch 2 on Amazon's e-commerce platform would only lead users to the original Switch consoles, its bundles, and more, but not the latest device itself.

While there are products related to the new console like accessories such as carry cases, tempered glass, protectors, Joy-Con sleeves, and Switch 2 games from their developers or distributors, the Switch 2 itself and anything from Nintendo are not there.

Bloomberg's latest report shared their insight on what could be the reason behind the absence of the Switch 2 console on Amazon, and they believe that it is because of third-party sellers. Amazon remains one of the go-to platforms for all things online shopping not only in America but in many corners of the globe, and with this absence, Nintendo is surely missing a key market.

However, this did not stop the company from refusing to list the Switch 2 on Amazon's platform, with the Nintendo Store's official account on the e-commerce market remaining behind on the latest offers.

New Report Blames Third-Party Sellers

According to Bloomberg, third-party sellers are notorious for offering games of the original Switch for sale on Amazon for the US market that were far cheaper than the ones offered by the official Nintendo Store. These undercutting tactics by third parties were frowned upon by Nintendo, particularly as the company has an official account on the e-commerce platform.

Since then, things reportedly turned sour between both Nintendo and Amazon, with the Japanese gaming company opting to turn away from directly selling on the online marketplace.

With this, Amazon has since tried to work out a deal with Nintendo to get the company back into selling its products on its website, but the Kyoto-based entertainment giant has declined as of writing.

It also led to Nintendo pulling out its products from the platform in the previous setup, according to Engadget. However, this has since changed as first-party games like "Donkey Kong Bananza" were available to preorder on Amazon US.

For now, fans should turn to other e-commerce platforms and trusted gaming retailers for their Switch 2 purchases to ensure the legitimacy of the products and receive perks like a warranty from Nintendo.
