World of Warships Blitz: Update 5.2 Brings Changes to the Airstrike Mechanic

Update 5.2
Update 5.2 Wargaming Studios

In the previous update for World of Warships Blitz, developer Wargaming Studios introduced airstrikes that allow players to quickly dispatch enemies via bomber drops. In the latest Update 5.2, they’ve implemented certain changes to the mechanic.

For one, upgrading the Airstrike mechanic now requires Dive Bomber blueprints. The upgrade increases the Airstrike Bomber’s HP and damage.

In addition, airstrikes now have four clear steps in the mechanic once the squadron has been activated. First, the squadrons appear 2.5 seconds after the command is initiated. They do not take anti-air damage at this time.

Second, squadrons fly five seconds after. During this time, they are prone to anti-air damage, so enemies that have potent defenses can eliminate them.

Third, once the squadrons reach the target area, they will begin dropping bombs. It takes 2.5 seconds for the bombs to hit the surface. They are still vulnerable when they initiate their attack.

And lastly, once the squadrons are finished with the task, they will fly high into the sky and disappear. At this point, enemy anti-air defenses can no longer target them, even if they’re still within range.
