World of Warcraft will soon have additional customization options for Nightborne and Lightforged Draenei in Patch 9.1.5. New cosmetics will also be introduced.

Warcraft community manager Bethany “Linxy” Stout posted that the Shadowlands expansion has introduced a whole new array of character customization options for most of the races in the game.

Even though this is the case, some Allied races have not gotten as much attention as the others. But that will change in a future update.

The devs have expressed at BlizzConline back in February that they had no plans of adding such options, at least after an unannounced expansion lands.

However, the devs decided to implement them sooner after hearing some “passionate feedback” from the community.

Expect extra hair colors, new hairstyles, skin colors, facial hair, horns, tail length, tattoos, accessories, and more in Patch 9.1.5. New cosmetics will also be added, including new travel forms for Druids, additional ear size options for Void Elves, and new Soulshapes for Night Fae, such as the ability to turn into an adorable squirrel and other small critters.

Keep in mind that because of their tiny appearances, players can only Soulshape into these critters in rested areas.

In closing, Linxy said further expanding character customization is ongoing, with the Highmountain Tauren being the next one.

The community seems to be happy about this news. User @Cemures said that the new customization options for some races are good. However, they are asking if they could also get normal hair colors and styles for Void Elves. Another user said that it would be great for everyone if the devs could add more colors and styles across the board.

Although the news was received most positively, some are not too impressed. User @Tschakka said that focusing on purely cosmetic things is a waste of resources. Further, the user said that they thought the devs have already started working on more interesting world content features.

Patch 9.1.5 doesn’t have a release date yet at the time of writing, so players may have to wait patiently before it arrives.

What do you think? Are you in favor of the devs adding new customization options for certain races in World of Warcraft?
