In less than six weeks, World of Warcraft Classic will finally release worldwide, and there is a considerable amount of hype in the air. Add that to the fact that last Friday was acknowledged as the official end of the closed beta. Now players looking to get their fix of the vanilla WoW experience only have to wait until August 27 when the game’s servers finally open for all.

While the closed beta is all but over, there is still some testing left to do, as World of Warcraft Classic has yet to have its final rounds of network global stress tests. However, these have been moved from date to date for quite some time now. In a latest community update, community manager Kaivax told players that this last round of stress testing has been delayed once again, this time to an unknown date.

The post notes that Blizzard is currently hard at work preparing for the global launch of World of Warcraft Classic, and that the team has “reached the conclusion that we’re not quite yet ready to do our Global Stress Test (previously scheduled for next week).” Kaivax continues that, “while we’re still on track to launch WoW Classic on August 27, we need a bit more time before this final pre-launch worldwide test.

In the last community update, it was noted that this final stress testing was moved from its original schedule that was supposed to run from today until tomorrow (July 18 to July 19) to July 25 to July 26. This is the third time the stress testing has been moved, which makes a lot of sense given that Blizzard notes that it’ll be the biggest one, with the developer rolling out their multi-region hardware in preparation of the worldwide release of World of Warcraft Classic.

No definite date was given for this final stress test, but if you scroll through the thread in said community update, you’ll find a pinned comment that notes that many players have received a free game time gift of three days, which is valid until July 29. This may be evidence that the stress test will most likely be somewhere within this date range, before the expiration date of the free game time gift.

World of Warcraft Classic will be released on PC on August 27.
