At Sakura Fight Fiesta 2019, fans were pleasantly surprised to witness over an hour of never-before seen gameplay footage for the upcoming Kill la Kill: IF. The footage was jam-packed with anime-style action and combat that brought one of the most popular action anime series of all time to life.

Kill la Kill: IF stays true to the anime with flash fight scenes, impossible moves, and a ton of anime-style combat yelling. The first part of the gameplay reveal showcased the anime's main protagonist Ryuko Matoi facing off against her rival, Satsuki Kiryuin. The gameplay is similar to other anime fighting games like Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm and the more recent Jump Force. Kill la Kill: IF features a revolving camera to give players the best viewpoints on the non-stop action that undoubtedly will ensue, as well as brilliant effects and superhuman speed that anime fighting games (and anime in general) are known for. Fans of the Kill la Kill series will be happy to know that the roster includes many fan-favorites such as Ira Gamagoori, Nonon Jakuzure, Uzu Sanageyama, and many more. Each fighter's moves also stay true to the anime, so if you've ever wondered what it would feel like to bust out a special move as your favorite character from Kill la Kill, now you can find out for yourself.

Kill la Kill: IF is being developed by A+ Games and published by Arc System Works. Both the developer and the publisher have worked on numerous anime-themed titles before such as Daedalus: The Awakening of Golden Jazz, and World End Syndrome. Kill la Kill: IF, however, will be their first attempt at creating a video game adaptation from an actual anime. Based on what we've seen so far, they're doing a great job.

Kill la Kill: IF will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC. While it will be launching at the same time worldwide as it is in Japan, Kill la Kill: IF will be releasing at different times depending on the platform. In Japan, the game launches for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and on PC via Steam on July 25. For the rest of the world, the PC version will launch on July 25, but the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions will launch the next day on July 26.
