The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman thinks one death in the Season 7 premiere will enough to make up for a bad cliffhanger.

No, it’s not. We don’t believe only one person dies one in The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere. It would be infuriating if they left the teased us for this long only to kill one person, even if it is Glenn who gets the bat .

Kirkman spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the big Negan scene coming up in the premiere. There are rumors circulating two characters will die when the series returns. It also didn’t help Jeffrey Dean Morgan was misquoted saying Negan would kill more than one person. Apparently, this won’t be the case.

“I don't know that our audience is necessarily bloodthirsty enough to be wanting to hear that there's another death,” Kirkman told THR . “One death should be enough for this audience and one death will definitely have the affect that we're looking for. It will certainly set the stage for a very exciting season.”

We get where Kirkman is coming from, but we’d be lying if we said we’re not a little bloodthirsty. We want the Negan scene to really drive home his villain status and killing two people in front of Rick’s group would do just that. Even Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick on the show, can’t stop talking about how wonderfully bad and unique Negan is as a villain.

“It’s such a great part and it’s so beautifully written,” Lincoln told Entertainment Weekly, referring to Negan. “And he’s such an important part of the show, this character, that we needed an actor that could step up and take the bull by the horns and drag it forward, and make it his own. And certainly, that’s what we have this season.”

Lincoln added, “I think everybody got a sense of what this actor is capable of in the last episode...But rest assured that that’s really just the beginning of what Jeffrey is creating. It’s very impressive and it’s great fun to work with him.”

We want the Negan scene to put Game of Thrones’ Red Wedding scene to shame. What better way to do it that through two epic deaths. The Walking Dead Season 7 premieres Oct. 23 on AMC.
