It seems like this generation of consoles is gonna have a lot of remakes and remasters. Don’t take this the wrong way, this isn’t me complaining, but some of the remakes don’t exactly make sense. According to recent rumors, a full-fledged remake of the PS4-exclusive title, Until Dawn, is in development.
The rumor came from multiple places. The leaker, AccountNGT, claims that Supermassive Games is developing a remake of their 2015 title, Until Dawn. He claims that he knew about this since December and has heard this information from numerous sources.
A post on 4chan further backs this rumor. According to the post, Until Dawn Remake will release on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. The story is being changed and will be made canon to the Dark Pictures Universe. It will include the shared story mode from the Dark Pictures games. All the information about the remake is mentioned below:
- Coming to PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC
- Includes shared story mode from The Dark Pictures
- Actors reprise their roles (yes including Rami Malek)
- I heard they changed it to make the game canon to the Dark Pictures Universe
- First half has been redone the killer is an actual killer this time and not Josh
- Wendigos get more screentime
- More branching paths
- More screentime for characters such as Matt and Jessica
- More deaths
- New ending
- From what I was told, Chris, Ashley, and Josh can die in the first half
- No more plot armor for characters like Mike and Sam
- Mike can now die at the Sanatorium
- Sam can now die in the Caves
- Mike can save Jessica in Chapter 4 and they can explore the Sanatorium together
- If Matt escapes the Wendigo in Chapter 6 he now shows up at the lodge at the same time Emily does in Chapter 8
