Two Dragon Ball Titles Sold More Than 10 Million Copies

A new milestone for both games. Bandai Namco

If you want proof of just how the Dragon Ball franchise remains popular, look no further than these two console games from Bandai Namco Entertainment America. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and Dragon Ball FighterZ have both exceeded shipments of 10 million copies worldwide.

Enter the World of Dragon Ball

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 was released in 2016 on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The game invites players to be part of the Dragon Ball world and fight beside Goku and the gang. It offers a wide range of game experiences like the in-game collab with another title Dragon Ball: The Breakers. With as many as 129 characters, it's the game that has the largest roster of playable characters among different Dragon Ball titles.

The game is now in its seventh year and continues to have 1 million monthly active users with many regularly playing the game. In celebration of this new milestone, it is going to feature a special raid quest along with a login bonus campaign.

Dragon Ball FighterZ was launched in 2018 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. The game lets players enjoy battles in the style of Dragon Ball as it features not only stunning visual effects but also high-quality animation. This title is the fastest to reach 10 million copies sold since its release.

This game was also named as "Best Fighting Game" during The Game Awards 2018 and continues to be highly regarded as a popular esports title. The Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour, which began in August 2022, has hosted offline and online tournaments with different players participating from around the world.

In celebration of this more recent achievement, a new ranked match challenge is added to give players access to DLC characters for free for a limited time, as well as select intervals from May 9 to June 22.

Bandai Namco Entertainment America is part of the Bandai Namco Group, which is responsible for various beloved classic franchises including Pac-Man, Tekken, Soulcalibur, and Ace Combat. Some of its recent titles include Dark Souls and Elden Ring.
