Titanfall 2 is getting prepped for its second big content update since launch. While no release date was given for the new content, Respawn did release more details about what to expect, and it looks exciting.

The big news is there’s a new game mode. Live Fire is a 6v6 Pilots-only game mode. There aren’t any respawns either, so you’re out of the round the first time you go down. This means rounds will be fast and quick, with teams competing for a best of five rounds.

Along with Live Fire, two new maps made specifically for the game mode are included in Content Update 2. Stacks and Meadow, the new maps, are only playable on the new mode, and are tight, enclosed maps to fit the gameplay of Live Fire.

As for other maps, there will be a new Coliseum map called Columns. No information was given about this map, so we’ll have to wait to learn more.

As for other new additions to Titanfall 2 in Content Update 2, there will be a new execution for Pilots to perform and multiple new Commander intros for each faction.

Additionally, Respawn is redesigning the multiplayer matchmaking interface. The company understands that splitting game modes across two different screens was confusing, so a new “mixtape” style system is getting integrated. This will allow players to pick the modes they want to play, and they will get put into games based on that.

Again, no release information has been mentioned, but Respawn did say they had more to share about the matchmaking interface in the coming weeks. This means to not expect this content drop for about a month. The post does end by teasing even more content is coming in another update, including new game modes, weapons, new maps and remastered Titanfall maps.

So what do you think? Are you excited to try out the new Live Fire game mode in Titanfall 2? What else do you want to see added in future updates? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
