If you liked Gwent in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, then you are going to love Thonebreaker. The standalone card game which acts as a prequel to the main Witcher games was just released on iOS. Thronebreaker was initially a single-player component for the online version of Gwent, but CD Projekt Red decided to made it a standalone title of its own. Thronebreaker expands the card combat formula found in both The Witcher 3 and Gwent, with an added side story to it.

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales was initially released on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 back in 2018, it also received a Switch port in January of this year. Now you can enjoy the game on your smartphone, or at least on your iPhone, as an Android port hasn’t been confirmed just yet. It only received an iOS release today, but we have our hopes up. You can watch the trailer for the iOS launch below.

You can purchase Thronebreaker for your iOS device for only $10. The game is also small in size, as it will only take 4GB of space. Purchasing the game will also give you 20 new cards and new ornaments to use in Gwent. Purchasing Thronebreaker also gets you many digital goodies like the official soundtrack, a Gwent artbook, a Digital Map of Lyria, and more.

Thronebreaker puts players in the shoes of Queen Meve, the ruler of Lyria and Rivia. As mentioned above, the game is set before the events of the The Witcher franchise. You will be a part of a war-torn world and will fight against the Nilfgaardian Empire. These are uncharted lands that have never been explored in previous Witcher games. You will explore Rivia, Lyria, Angren, Mahakam, and Aedirn.

Just like The Witcher 3, Thronebreaker also received critical reception from both fans and critics. The game received praise for its incredible story and amazing music. The game also has tons of content to offer, as according to HowLongToBeat, it should take you around 27 hours to finish the main story, and that is not counting all the extra stuff you can do.

So what do you think? Are you interested in the iOS port of Thronebreaker? Have you already played the game? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
