MDL Disneyland Paris Major: Team Secret vs PSG.LGD PSG.LGD

The Playoff round of the Dota 2 MDL Disneyland Paris Major is underway and at Team Secret and OG have beat their respective opponents to move to the next round of the competition.

In the first match, Team Secret took on PSG.LGD, with the first game taking just below 30 minutes to finish. Team Secret dominated the game, with Michał "Nisha" Jankowski making big plays on his Morphling. The second game went to PSG, as Team Secet could not find an answer to Wang "Ame" Chunyu on his Ursa or Lu "Maybe" Yao on Storm Spirit. Team Secret bounced back on the back of Nisha's Anti-Mage and help from Ludwig "zai" Wahlberg's Sand King and Yeik "MidOne" Nai Zheng on Monkey King.

The second match had top ranked Dota 2 team Virtus.pro against OG. OG appeared to be back in form as the team showed why they were the TI8 champions. In the first game, VP had the lead with OG initially not making any headway. However just after the 20-minute mark, a team fight went the way of OG, resulting in VP calling a GG. While the first game may have been a sort of see-saw battle, the second game was dominated by OG. It appeared that VP didn't know what to do with Anathan "ana" Pham's Phantom Assassin, who ended the game with 11 kills.

Both Team Secret and OG are set to face each other in the next round of the Upper Bracket matches. The winner gets a slot at the semi-finals and a guaranteed third place finish.

In the lower bracket, Mineski beat and eliminated Team Empire from the tournament. The game was Mineski all the way, with Kam "Moon" Boon Seng ending the game with 10 kills and zero deaths on his Templar Assassin.

A more interesting story was the match between Complexity Gaming and beascoast. Despite an impressive performance from Braxton "Brax" Paulson, it was not be enough as once again the game highlighted how strong Templar Assassin was. Linus "Limmp" Blomdin ended strong with 16 kills and only two deaths. With the win, Complexity eliminates beastcoast from the competition. The question on everyone's mind is, with the early exit of beastcoast, will this mark another reshuffle by Jacky "EternalEnvy" Mao?

For the second day of the Playoffs, there will be a total of three matches. Two matches will be in the Upper Bracket with Evil Geniuses taking on Team Liquid and Vici Gaming going against Ninjas in Pyjamas. The third match of the day is a best-of one elimination match with Chaos Esports Club versus paiN Gaming.
