Tales of Arise is Bandai Namco’s latest entry into the Tales series and it is launching a few months from now. Four characters have been confirmed thus far, but a new trailer shows two new playable characters joining the party.

The company has released new footage showcasing Elde Menancia and its capital Viscint. The place is situated in the diverse and luxurious region of Dahna.

There, you will meet the last two playable characters for Alphen’s party. The first one is Dohalim, a noble from Rena.

Dohalim is a true gentleman who likes antiquities, music, and poetry. Although generally well-mannered, he is not too fond of Dahnans compared to other Renans. He wields a rod which, along with his Astral Artes, make for a deadly combination.

The other playable character featured in the trailer is Kisara. Considered to be one of the most powerful soldiers in the Dahnan army, she has a very good reputation and is highly regarded by the soldiers of Rena.

Wielding her trusty hammer and shield, she is proficient in close-quarter combat. She can shield her allies from enemy attacks and dish out heavy damage when needed. She accompanies Dohalim and Alphen’s group will come across both of them at some point in the story.

Exciting Battles

True to every Tales game, you can expect every encounter to be exciting. The trailer shows some spectacular moves and combos that you can execute during battle.

Artes, for those who are not familiar with the franchise, are special attacks unique to each character. You can utilize various Artes to deal massive amounts of damage to your enemies.

Also, players can execute Boost Strikes or powerful attacks meant as finishing moves. To perform these attacks, players would have to group a pair of characters together and lower the enemy’s health to a certain percentage. A prompt will appear to let you know that a Boost Strike is possible. Each pair offers a distinct combination that you must discover in the game.

Tales of Arise is going to launch on September 9 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It will also be available on PC via Steam on September 10.

So, what do you think of the last two playable characters in the game?
