Star Trek Online officially launched its newest season, House Reborn, and is now available for PC. The release is just in time as the game celebrates its 11th anniversary. Players of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One though need to wait a little longer as it’s set to be released at a later date.
House Reborn revolves around the matriarch of House Mo’Kai, none other than J’Ula. Players can expect new episodes and changes to the Klingon. Before we move forward, take time to read about the event being launched in celebration of the upcoming anniversary here.
The Story So Far
In House Shattered, we saw the Klingon Empire being broken apart and this has led J’Ula to go to Boreth and track down Tenavik. Fans of the Star Trek franchise would be familiar with Tenavik as the Klingon outcast that was introduced in Season 2 of Star Trek: Discovery. But J’Ula’s journey won’t be easy.
In House Reborn, players help J’Ula on her spiritual journey and along the way meet the Klingon warrior L'Rell. Players can even meet other characters in the franchise like General Martok of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Then there’s also Adet’Pa and Aakar.
What to Expect
House Reborn introduces two new episodes. The first is “Knowledge is Power” with players taking on the role of J’Ula as she heads to Boreth to ask guidance from Tenavik. From there, players take on the second episode “Leap of Faith” and help J’Ula go to Gre’thor and find L’Rell.
As mentioned, the new season brings to the game Klingon-themed features like the Klingon Recruitment System. Here, players start as a Klingon Captain and can earn rewards not only for that particular Captain but also for their other Captains.
There’s also the Klingon Revamp where all missions that are exclusive to Klingon Captains have been fully remastered. Expect changes to the missions, stories, and even the environments. There are even voice-overs from actors like Michal Dorn (Worf) and Shannon Cochran (Lady Sirella). The revamp includes the following:
- Remastered Tutorial
- Empire Story Arc (5 missions)
- Warzone Story Arc (4 missions)
- Fek'lhir Story Arc (3 missions)
Arriving with House Reborn is the Cross Faction Flying. This allows Federation Captains to command Klingon Ships and Klingon Captains to do the same for Federation ships. To access this feature, players need to have a Klingon character of at least level 65.
Finally, there’s the free uniform from Star Trek: Discovery, which is only available for a limited time.
