Have you been playing Solasta: Crown of the Magister and think you have what it takes? Try again with the new update. The hot July 13 Update has dropped and adds the Ironman Mode to the difficulty setting.

The Ironman Mode can only be activated when starting a new campaign. Once it’s turned on, it can’t be turned off. For this mode, players get a single save file which then is deleted once its game over.

New Sorcerer Class

Arriving with the new update is the Sorcerer class. Sorcerers are spellcasters that cast magic using Charisma. While they don’t have as many spells as Wizards, their Metamagic feature allows them to twist their spells.

These are the three subclasses to choose from:

  • Draconic Sorcerer
    • Their powerful magic comes from their bloodline, which they claim can be traced back to powerful dragons of ancient times.
  • Mana Painter
    • Mana Painters were born out of the mana starvation that followed the Cataclysm.
    • Some of them have gained the innate ability to drain magic and use it as their own.
  • Child of the Rift
    • When the opening of the Rift forced a new magic brought by the gods of Tirmar into Solasta, those most deeply affected by it were named the Children of the Rift.

Gameplay

In addition to the new mode and new class, the update also brings improvements to other classes. One of these is for Rangers which can now replace one known spell once they level up.

Here are some of the bug fixes and gameplay changes:

  • Rangers sometimes not getting the correct favored enemy/terrain they selected at level 6.
  • Champion Fighter's 2nd fighting style overwriting the 1st at level 10.
  • Rogue missing their ASI at level 10.
  • Not being able to level up as a wizard if the character already knew all the spells available.
  • Fighters not being able to dash twice with Action Surge.
  • Paladins starting with javelins equipped instead of their longsword.
  • Dwarves getting slowed by wearing heavy armor when their strength is below requirement.
  • Creed of Arun sharing the same text with Ambidextrous.
