As Gamescom 2019 draws closer, now with less than a month to go, more developers and publishers are starting to announce their playable titles for one of the biggest gaming events of the year.
Over the past few weeks we’ve seen lineups from Microsoft and Xbox, who will be showcasing Xbox Game Studios titles for the console and PC, as well as Nintendo, who will be debuting the highly-anticipated The Witcher 3 port for the Switch during the event. Smaller publishers and developers like Microids, THQ Nordic and Wired Productions have also announced their lineup of playable titles for Gamescom 2019. Just yesterday, we also got a look at the publishers who will be presenting during the Opening Night Live event on August 19, to be hosted by Geoff Keighley.
This time, we’re now getting a look at playable titles from another big Japanese publisher, Sega. The company announced two games, a console and one unannounced title for its lineup this year, all of which are detailed below.
- Catherine: Full Body – Atlus’ revamped Catherine title will be hitting the shelves for the PlayStation 4 later this year, and as such expect it to receive attention at Gamescom. Attendees will get the chance to try a demo of the game which contains cutscenes – these cutscenes will provide some context as to the game’s updated plot and narrative. The playable build will also showcase several gameplay features like puzzles, character interactions and more.
- Two Point Hospital – the hospital management sim released to a very positive reception on PC, and now Two Point Studios will be bringing its quirky yet in-depth gameplay to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Gamescom attendees will be the first ever in the world to play Two Point Hospital on consoles, with the first chapter of the game playable to the public.
- Sega Genesis Mini / Mini Mega Drive – Sega will be once again showcase that gigantic and fully functioning Mega Drive controller, this time to attendees of Gamescom. Of course, you can also play all 42 games that will debut with the mini console, including hits such as Sonic the Hedgehog, the Streets of Rage series, Darius, Road Rash II, Virtua Fighter 2, Ghouls and Ghosts, Strider, Kid Chameleon, and many more.
- Unannounced AAA title – place your bets as to what this might be, as Sega will treat visitors to a first-hand look at an all new AAA game.
