We were promised Rick and Morty Season 3 by the end of 2016. That leaves 59 days for Adult Swim to air the first episode. We knew the Season 2 premiere’s release date approximately six weeks before its July 26 debut, so odds are we’ll hear an official release date for Season 3 in the next few weeks. Unless Rick and Morty Season 3 is behind schedule…

Don’t worry, there are a few positive signs that new episodes of Rick and Morty are on track for a 2016 premiere.

Instead there are additional layers of writing and reiterating after a first animation pass has been completed. Season 3 writers Sarah Carbiener and Erica Rosbe described the process in some detail for the Chicks Who Script podcast. So it’s possible Rick and Morty Season 3 isn’t done done. But tweets like this give us hope that the show is indeed approaching TV readiness:

While nothing is certain, all indicators are good that Rick and Morty Season 3 will indeed hits its promised 2016 premiere date.
