Returnal PC Port Seems Inevitable According to SteamDB

Returnal Sony

In the last few years, Sony hasn’t been shy about releasing its games on PC. It seems like we are getting one more on the master race. Returnal, a PS5-exclusive title, will be released on PC, however, no release date or window was mentioned.

SteamDB doesn’t outright mention Returnal , instead, the entry is codenamed as Oregon. So, how do we know that it's actually referencing Returnal?

If you go to the Localization tab, you can see keys and values that hint toward the said game. One of the values is “Atropos,” the name of the planet where the game takes place. “Tower of Sisyphus,” which was the free expansion pack, of the game is also mentioned in one of the values. Several other values are also linked to Returnal.

If you click on the Information tab, you can see several User Tags. Some of the tags are Sci-fi, Rogue-lite, Single-player, Online Co-Op, Female Protagonist, Controller, Bullet Hell, and more. All of these tags can Returnal as well. Coincidence?

Previous Leak

Returnal coming to PC isn’t exactly that far-fetched. The said game was mentioned in last year’s Nvidia GeForce leak as well. Other games like Ghost of Tsushima, Demon’s Souls Remake, Gran Turismo 7, and Horizon Forbidden West were mentioned too. However, we haven’t heard a word about them.

The Nvidia leak also mentioned God of War (2018) and Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection. The former is already on PC and the latter is confirmed to arrive this year. If Returnal is heading to PC, it will be the first PS5-exclusive title to get a PC port. All other PS games on PC were released on PS4.

About the Game

Returnal was released on April 30, 2021, and it received a positive reception from both fans and critics. It also won the Best Game Award at the 2022 BAFTA Game Awards. The game received a free expansion that added tons of new content.
