The APAC Six Invitational Closed Qualifiers just concluded a while ago. The match was played in a best of three series with the top eight teams representing the region. The matchup between Qconfirm and CAG was the most anticipated game.
Both teams are exceptionally strong and played against each other quite often across different leagues. The first map played on Kafe Dostoyevsky was super exciting to watch as the map relies on a ton of strategies. If you’ve seen Qconfirm play, you know they tend to run around and drop frags. CAG showed us some impressive strategies on the first map but mostly relied on Lion and other frag operators. The mixture of strategy and fragging allowed CAG to come on top. CAG took the first map with a 7-3 scoreline proving their potential as the better team.
The second map played on Consulate was even more devastating for Qconfirm fans. CAG was able to pick apart Qconfirm one player at a time due to Qconfirm’s lack of coordination. CAG used operators like Blackbeard, Dokkabei, Twitch. This allowed CAG to distract Qconfirm.
Round six was the messiest round for both teams. They kept refragging each other without actually trying to coordinate with their teammates. The round ended with Twitch and Thermite running into the site without a defuser. At the same time, the final defender was running around the map wasting time. Still, CAG was able to take Consulate with a 7-3 scoreline.
The next few matches of the closed qualifiers will be even more exciting. We'll get to see two teams from APAC South compete with each other for the spot in the semi-finals.
