The inaugural PUBG Mobile Club Open 2019 held in Berlin is finally done and standing tall on top of all the other teams is TOP ESPORTS from China. The team beat out 15 other teams to win the championship and take home the $180,000 cash prize.

The PUBG Mobile Club Open 2019 is divided into Spring and Fall Split. Each Split came with a separate prize pool totaling $2.5 million. The qualifiers for the tournament started in March, when at least 30,000 teams battled to earn a spot at the prestigious event. PMCO 2019 provides a path for aspiring semi-pro clubs to pave their way to become esports professionals.

Coming in second in the tournament is X-Quest F and third place was taken by Elite Gaming, both from China. X-Quest gets to bring home $90,000 while Elite Gaming gets $45,000.

In addition to the main awards, Pachachai "G9" Han of RRQ Athena was voted the Fan Favorite, while Naman "Mortal" Sandeep Mathur earned the Website Fan Favorite Player Award.

Tencent General Manager of Global Publishing Center Vincent Wang said that months of competition eventually lead to the championship and three days of intense battle in Berlin. Wang said they are happy to crown TOP ESPORTS as the champion and "congratulate all the teams that made it to the finals and showed the gaming community the playability, action and fun in our game."

At the end of the tournament, Wang unveiled the classic Erangel map and revealed that it was going to get an overhaul of upgrades that include new buildings and new terrain. Other new content coming includes the partnership with AMC, which hopes to bring The Walking Dead to PUBG Mobile. Another update is that Africa servers are almost coming online, which also marks the milestone of 400 million downloads and 50 million daily active players.

It was not all news, as during the three days of competition, award-winning DJ Alan Walker debuted his new collaborative song with PUBG Mobile “Live Fast” with an unprecedented live performance. In addition, NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo and eight other international celebrities including Boy Pakorn, Pevita Pearce, and Powerbang Gaming also dropped in for a special TEAM UP PUBG Mobile show match.

Registration for the Fall Split tournament starts Thursday, August 8, and is open to all players.
