Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is now available for PC players through Steam. The PC version has all the content and features available on the console version. In addition, the PC version of the game also offers the recently released Season 2.
In a press release, nWay Co-Founder and CEO Taehoon Kim said the success of the game on consoles has allowed the release of this PC version. He went on to say that with the crossplay features, the addition of "PC players to the matchmaking pool, along with players from Nintendo Switch and Xbox, will only add to the excitement of the community enjoying the fierce battles and incredibly fun action of Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid."
Features of the PC version include:
- A roster of 12 starting characters which allow you a wide range of fighting options. Characters include Jason Lee Scott, Tommy Oliver, Gia Moran, Ranger Slayer, Magna Defender, Kat Manx, Mastodon Sentry, Goldar, Lord Drakkon, Udonna, Dragon Armor Trini and Cenozoic Blue Ranger.
- There are four Ultra to ensure that action is continuous. These are Dino Megazord, Dragonzord, Mega Goldar, and S.P.D. Megazord.
- A total of eight Arenas that include Zordon’s Training Room, Harwood County Warzone, Mystic Forest, Lord Drakkon’s Throne Room, Command Center, Corinth, Planet Earth: Cenozoic Era, and Space Patrol Delta Base.
- Different online gameplay modes are offered:
- Ranked Mode
- Match up against players from across the world in online battles.
- Fight and win to earn League Points.
- Casual Mode
- Like Ranked Mode but without losing any League Points.
- This is a good way to practice playing new characters or just to have fun.
- Ranked Mode
- Offline modes are offered as well, which include:
- Versus Mode
- Play against another player or the computer.
- Arcade Mode
- Fight a series of battles that ends against the final boss.
- Training Mode
- Hone your skills against training mode AI.
- Use a variety of functions customized for training.
- Tutorial
- Learn how to play the game’s core mechanics through a series of step-by-step instructions.
- Versus Mode
- The PC version includes the full story mode, with an epic storyline written and voice directed by writer/director Kyle Higgins, known for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Shattered Grid, Nightwing, and Batman: Gates of Gotham.
- The game’s story and combat voiceovers are performed by original Power Rangers cast members, that include Jason David Frank (Tommy Oliver), Austin St. John (Jason Lee Scott), David J. Fielding (Zordon), Kerrigan Mahan (Goldar) and Meghan “Strawburry17” Camarena (Kimberly).
- Through Direct Match, any two specific players can match up directly to do battle against each other.
- With the Crossplay & Cross-Progression feature, PC players can fight against players on both Nintendo Switch and Xbox One in Ranked, Casual, or Direct Matches.
- Get access to collectibles including 120 collectible banners.
In addition to the standard version of Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid, a Collector's Edition is offered for $39.99. The Collector’s Edition includes the digital game download, Season One Pass, Lord Drakkon Evo II Skin and a Kimberly Hart/Pink Ranger skin. The Season 1 Pass can can be purchased separately for $14.99. Season 1 offers three new characters as well as the Jason Lee Scott/Red Dragon Shield Skin. Season 2 has just been released.
