MEGA KANGASKHAN NERF

Mega Kangaskhan has been a staple of the Pokémon VGC since its introduction in 2013. It’s Parental Bond ability is such a game-changer but that seems to be getting a much-needed nerf when Sun and Moon come around.

From the Japanese trailer, it seems that the second hit in Parental Bond has had its damage decreased by 25 percent. Take a look.

Not only were Mega Stones banned from the upcoming VGC season, Mega Kangaskhan’s ability has now been cut in half (essentially) allowing for casual players to not have to fear the mother-child duo as much anymore.

CHINESE RIDDLER GETS ANOTHER RIGHT WITH KOMMO-O

The Chinese Riddler has been teasing new Pokémon for awhile now. And the latest post from the Riddler showed some images allegedly representing new Pokémon that haven’t yet been officially revealed.

Some of those images are the Toucan Pokémon that was spotted on the clothes during trainer customization, and we had a anime girl and her voice actress as the other new Pokémon. While those images haven’t been deciphered we do have one that has.

A photo of a staff shown next to Jangmo-o for some time. Now we can see the correlation. Kommo-o’s tail is just like the staff with the bells shown in the picture. Here is the official dex entry for Kommo-o: “When it detects someone approaching, this Pokémon rings the scales on its tail to announce its presence. It has no desire to battle against weak Pokémon.”

It’s tail does look an awful lot like like the staff the Chinese Riddler posted some time back. And the placement next to Jangmo-o is not a coincidence either, so score another point for the Chinese Riddler.

SILVALLY IS AN ARCEUS EXPERIMENT?

Type: Null’s evolution has been formally revealed as Silvally. This mysterious Pokémon has had many fans wondering about its purpose in Sun and Moon .

Now that more information has been revealed, it seems Silvally was an attempt to recreate the Legendary Pokémon, Arceus, who acts as the God of Pokémon. The clues are all there, the ability (RKS is not very subtle) to change its typing based on the hold item, the attack that allows it change types based on the typing that Silvally is in battle.

But what is it’s purpose? Well, it’s dex entry states: “ Silvally is said to have been created to oppose a threat…”

Is that threat the Ultra Beasts? There’s still a lot of mystery surrounding the Alola Region and Sun and Moon, but Silvally will play a crucial role in the story, so keep looking for more hints in the future.
