Pokémon Legends: Arceus isn't here yet, but we’ve been getting peeks here and there to tell us what players can expect. This time, we get to see the Hisuian forms of Zorua and Zoroark.

For a quick background, the game is set in the past in what’s known as the Hisui region. One of the things that players need to do is create what would be the region’s first-ever Pokédex. Anyway, before we take a closer look at the two Pokémon, those who buy the game before the official launch not only get the Hisuian Growlithe Kimono Set, but also the Baneful Fox Mask.

The Spiteful Fox

Now on the Pokémon mentioned. The first is the Hisuian Zorua which is a Normal/Ghost categorized as the Spiteful Fox Pokémon.

This Pokémon arrived in the Hisui region after they were driven away by humans in other lands. This is because it can manifest illusions. Sadly, because of the harsh environment that this new land offered along with fights against other Pokémon, Zorua eventually perished. However, as a result of its malice toward both humans and Pokémon, its lingering soul eventually reborn to become a Ghost-type form.

What usually happens is when the Hisuian Zorua spots a lone person or Pokémon, it appears before them and mimics the appearance of its targets. Compared to the usual illusions of the original Zorua, the Hisuian is a result of the spiteful power emitted from the long fur located on its head, around its neck, and on its tail.

The Baneful Fox

The next Pokémon introduced is the Hisuian Zoroark, categorized as the Baneful Fox Pokémon. In the case of Zoroark, it projects terrifying illusions through the spiteful power emitted from its long and writhing fur. While they may be illusions, they can also do physical harm to enemies and even damage bodies inside and outside. In addition, these same illusions have expressions with such utter malice that it’s said whoever looks at them becomes mad because of terror.

There is a bit of good news. That’s because this Pokémon appears to have a soft side. While it may be hostile toward people and other Pokémon, it has some compassion when it comes to what it considers as family.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is coming out in January 2022 on Nintendo Switch.
